A report of the ARIADNEplus Workshop “The Way Forward” has been published which was held on Tuesday 16th February to bring the partners up to date with the latest developments and future plans. Several improvements and new features have already been implemented in the Portal as described by Johan Fihn Marberg (on the Search facility) and Carlo Meghini on the Services and the range of new possibilities that these provide researchers with was illustrated by Julian Richards who demonstrated that the new Portal can be used as a powerful tool in its own right. Three of the initial pilots were also previewed along with Guntram Geser’s overview of VREs in the context of virtual archaeology and new datasets are being added along with the development of mapping profiles where needed by some of the sub-domains. Overview, very good progress has been made and the workshop was very well received by the 70+ participants.
